The Catalysing Change Week (CCW) 2024 in numbers
With 5,473 attending participants, 112 sessions held and 147 countries represented, the Catalysing Change Week (CCW) 2024 has made it possible to synergise a diversity of ideas to answer a main question : How to contribute to developing the social innovation ecosystem ?
A look back at the session
Along with Danson Gichini (World Economic Forum), Eme Essien-Lore (Wealth4Impact) and Dr. Solange Rosa (Bertha Center for Social Innovation & Entrepreneurship), Isabelle Hoyaux from ScaleChanger took part in this session focusing on perspectives from the Social Innovation Sector Development and highlighting key strategies to strengthen the social innovation sector in Africa.
The session aimed to explore the role of data collection, policy reform, and perception shifting in building a robust social innovation ecosystem on the continent.
Key takeaways of the discussion :
The importance of : 🔸 System change – creating coalitions or strengthen the ones you are part of is key to identify collective goals in order to raise awareness about social innovation, build movements and grow impact. 🔸 Providing evidence and shifting narratives about Africa. Africa can become a food basket rather than a continent of food scarcity – this can be done by being introspective. 🔸 Building trust and relationships – by relying on peers and coalitions for greater and systemic impact, as well as finding a way to work with the private sector so it can support social innovation. |
